Our Approach

Active, Goal-Oriented Physiotherapy for Older Adults

Our focus is on getting you moving and active during therapy so you can improve your everyday mobility skills - things like getting up from chairs more easily, keeping your balance while walking, or climbing the stairs with confidence.

We will build a treatment plan based on your unique needs and goals, and aim to use therapies that are supported by research evidence whenever we can.

Every person and situation is different, but your therapy might include things like:

  • Exercise – strength, flexibility, and coordination exercises to improve your movement abilities
  • Functional mobility training – practicing functional activities and movements like getting up from sitting, transfers, walking, and stairs
  • Neurological physiotherapy – treatment for specific conditions like stroke or Parkinson’s disease
  • Balance training – working on balance exercises and learning strategies to reduce your falls risk
  • Conditioning – gradually increasing your endurance and activity tolerance
  • Education – helping you understand what you can do in and out of therapy to work towards your goals

Our aim is to help you take an active role in your recovery so you can get back to what is important to you. Whether that is regaining your independence, playing with your grandchildren, or being active in your community - we are here to help!

We also offer follow-up appointments virtually (online by video) for individuals who have already had an in-person assessment, if it works with their treatment plan. If you are interested, discuss this with your physiotherapist at your first visit.
